Word Bearer Moritat Conversion

First Betrayal of Calth Conversion.
So the Chaplain model in the new BOC set just looked like a Moritat to me, added a Plasma pistol an the conversion was done, spent today painting him.  He will be joined by 10 Destroyer Word Bearers next.

Painting process as follows.

Prime Black, painting ground with Vallejo Grey Primer.

Base Iron Hands Steel

Nuln oil was for depth.

Two coats of Angron Red and then one of Minitaire Fresh Blood, I find the Angron Red by itself to orange for Word Bearers

Detail armor painting with targeted washing

Karbalite Green dry brush and then layers for the Cape and Helm Crest, painted eye lenses, Armor highlights.  Used the new Retributor metals here and I always highlight with model air silver.  From the brush this airbrush paint goes on for highlights like a dream.

Used the Air Brush for a little heating effect on the pistols.

So all he needs now is a sea of smurfs to wade through while executing them all with plasma head shots!  I know the FAQ has made this load out a little weak, but hey, this is how this guy wanted to look.  The Betrayal of Calth set is incredible.  I love having PLASTIC Heresy, conversions are simple and easy to glue now.  Big bonus, NO FREAKING WASHING THE RESIN!  Hope you enjoyed let me know if you have any questions happy to answer and Death to the False Emperor!

  1. Hey just a quick question:

The metal and red layers used on this guys armour, were they applied with by hand with a brush or did you spray those layers on with an airbrush?
